Timber & Biomass Expo Southeast Rescheduled
Hatton-Brown Publishers has rescheduled its live forestry demo/show for April 16-17, 2010. It will be staged on timberland in Toombs County, Ga., near Vidalia. The name of the event has been altered to Timber & Biomass Expo Southeast to reflect the growing importance of the developing wood biomass sector, which is poised to grow quickly in Georgia and surrounding states in coming months and years.
“The delay of the show should work out better for all parties concerned,” says DK Knight, a principal in Hatton-Brown, which publishes Southern Loggin’ Times, Timber Harvesting and Wood Bioenergy magazines, among others. “The economy and forest industry should be in recovery mode by then and even more wood-to-energy plants are expected to be in the works—some perhaps operational. And we’re confident the site we’ll settle on will make for a more efficient layout. Another plus is that the site will be within 20 miles of Vidalia and Lyons, which have ample high quality lodging.”
Site selection information is expected to be available by late July.
